With an almost chameleonic effort across the film’s set design, all the visual cues are set in place to transport us to a Hollywood that no longer exists… The music, like the cars, have only aged for better https://voltage-bet.net/nfl/. Punctuating the plot, a certain Paul Revere & The Raiders record gives us a glimpse into Sharon Tate’s private life. With the first few notes of “Good Thing,” we see the actress played by Margot Robbie start to feel the groove; a rare glimpse into the personal routine of someone at the height of their fame. As she’s bobbing her head, L’automne by Alfons Mucha can be noticed in the background. Through her tastes, both musical and artistic, and art in movies, Sharon Tate becomes more than just a two-dimensional character or actress, she becomes a person.
Framed in a discussion between the characters Joe and Seligman, Lars von Trier informs almost every scene of his film with the idea of the lure. Seligman’s enthusiasm for fly fishing compares with Joe’s sexual lures to sate her own passions. But is Seligman what he seems to be? Joe constantly reminds him that she is not a good person, and that his sentiments will change once her story has been told. So to does director von Trier cast his own lure, with Seligman revealing his true nature once Joe completes her story.
Theo’s work is almost always cinematic, even though he paints mere single moments. What precedes and proceeds from his paintings is left to the imagination and this invitation to the viewer is part of the romance that is at play. We can always watch a movie and be swept up in its story, but afterwards we are removed, inevitably, to some extent. The beauty of a painting is the way in which the viewer is as involved as the painter in the construction of the story and drama. The way in which the painting comes to life is up to you and can involve your own ideas and life experiences. The blurred lines of cinema and painting are not mutually exclusive, but opportunities for artists and viewers of art to find their voices and express themselves in exciting and innovative ways. It is in this way that Theo’s work never fails to enthrall and ignite our imagination, in spite and because of the unavoidable influence of movies on our collective aesthetic.

Scene Graphics: These are graphics for set dec or props to establish a scene. To illustrate, in a library study scene, it may be necessary to include more books around a character that is open or stacked up than is written in the script. This establishes the library setting and creates a sense of time passing, making the scene more authentic and engaging. These same graphics are not necessarily present in other scenes shot on the same set.
